Fremont, California - June 22, 2007 - According to CRN magazine's 2007 survey of Leading System Builders, AMAX Information Technologies rose last year to become the top supplier of custom systems in the United States in both the server and storage categories.
In the annual survey, AMAX ranked No. 1 in server and storage unit sales among the U.S.-based system builders surveyed by the influential computer reseller publication.
"We are honored to be ranked No. 1 in the U.S. system builder channel," Jean Shih, president of AMAX Information Technologies, said. "We have been growing 30 percent to 40 percent annually in the past few years, mainly from our server and storage solutions, and we see no sign of a slowdown in the coming year. We will continue to develop and expand our market presence. We will also continue to provide innovative computing solutions for our customers."
AMAX's explosive 200 percent growth in server sales and 500 percent growth in storage unit sales in 2006 propelled the Fremont, Calif.-based system builder and computer products distributor to the top of both categories in the annual survey. CRN cited AMAX's robust business building security, networking and storage appliances for small OEMs and ISVs as one of the drivers of its server business.
CRN also ranked AMAX as the fourth largest system builder overall on its 2007 list of Leading Custom System Builders.
