At VMworld 2014 in San Francisco, AMAX’s CloudMax™ Converged Cloud Infrastructure Solution was named the Gold winner of the prestigious Best of VMworld 2014 Award in the category of Private Cloud Computing Technologies. This marks the second award this year for the CloudMax™ product as earlier this year, the CloudMax™ private cloud platform also received the prestigious 2014 Server Innovation Award by Intel for Best Data Center Product. 2014 has certainly been a year of industry recognition for the AMAX CloudMax™ Converged Cloud Infrastructure platform.
This is the 11th year that the Best of VMworld Awards have been presented to recognize the most exceptional products on display at VMware’s annual user conference. Winners are chosen based on a matrix of criteria including product innovation, performance, ease of integration into existing environments, etc. AMAX’s CloudMax™ outperformed other competitors in the Private Cloud Computing category to clinch its position as the Gold Winner, beating out finalist Red Hat. So what makes CloudMax™ so special?
AMAX, a leading provider of cloud/IaaS, Big Data, and HPC platforms, developed the CloudMax™ Converged Cloud Infrastructure platform to be a turnkey private cloud solution featuring Facebook-inspired Open Compute (OCP) hardware seamlessly integrated with the CloudMax™ OpenStack software suite. The software features a centralized management GUI for automated machine discovery, allocation, configuration, provisioning and total management of the OpenStack cloud environment, as well as multi-hypervisor integration and support, including for VMware’s vSphere ESXi. CloudMax™ can also be deployed as a cloud platform compatible with cloud operating systems outside of the CloudMax™ software. For customers who are using VMware’s vSphere and are looking for a more cost-effective way to scale their infrastructure, CloudMax™’s hardware platform is also validated with vSphere and can be deployed as a vSphere platform with vSphere loaded in place of the CloudMax™ software, giving customers the ultimate flexibility in how they want to deploy and scale their cloud.
