IP Infusion OcNOS is a robust Linux-based operating system for data center networking, designed specifically for Open Compute Project (OCP) platforms. With the ability to deploy network services in an agile, scalable, and cost-efficient manner, OcNOS (Open Compute Network Operating System) simplifies operations and reduces overhead, improving cost-savings significantly. Most importantly, OcNOS operates as a modular, multi-tasking OS that can run on commodity hardware, enabling seamless integration across any hardware platform.
OcNOS is a highly modular software design that employs multiple processes to handle individual protocols. These processes are managed by a process handler framework that monitors, restarts and event logs every key process. OcNOS can be customized with additional software features, and the control plane features support for layer 2 switching, Carrier, Data Center Switching, MPLS/MPLS-TP, and more.
OcNOS is notable for being highly interoperable with other vendor nodes. The operation and management of an OcNOS-based network is provided using CLI and SNMP, and the management plane can support a wide variety of management interfaces like CLI, SNMP, REST, NETCONF, and SAF IMM-OI.
